Bio

Emily Freda Sharp

Emily is a Director who creates work that doesn’t compromise on meaning.

Her initial years in advertising saw her put her name to the first social-led campaign to win a Cannes Lion; The United Nations’ People’s Seat with Sir David Attenborough. Meanwhile her darkly comic debut short film, Uh Oh, had a major impact upon release, leading to the creation of the UK government’s AI Ethics Taskforce inside 10 Downing Street.

She has since gone on to direct global campaigns for Twix, Marks & Spencer, Tinder, BBC iPlayer, Eurovision, and Tesco, with commercial performances from Rylan, Gemma Collins, Dani Dyer, and The England Men’s Squad.

With a distinctly human sensibility, Emily’s work allows her to explore complex subjects through a distinctive lens; From violence against women and girls to selective mutism, her filmmaking challenges and engages in equal measure. In contrast she also enjoys working across mixed media and comedy, bringing levity to her work.
